    How Odoo Transformed a Cross-Border Sports Retailer

Tracking daily performance required logging into multiple disparate portals, a process that left their international supply chain disconnected.

The business transitioned to a centralized Odoo ecosystem using CRM, Sales, Purchase, Inventory, Accounting, and Dashboards—to natively manage both their e-commerce and wholesale operations.

    Global Logistics & Market Expansion

    The leadership team previously felt restricted by operational paralysis, anxious that their disconnected systems were actively holding them back from scaling into new regions. The business successfully unlocked rapid global market expansion while unifying its core sales and financial operations under one roof.

    This agility was achieved by consolidating their isolated accounting and sales systems into Odoo. Rather than leaving international third-party logistics (3PL) partners unutilized due to software limitations, we custom-developed integrations with five different 3PLs across five countries. This allowed the brand to instantly activate sales channels in those regions and fulfil orders locally.

    Order Fulfilment & Omnichannel Integration

    The operations team used to face immense stress during peak sales seasons, constantly worried that complex orders would stall in the pipeline or require manual spreadsheets to ship. Fulfilment became entirely fluid and automated, even for complex global orders requiring split-warehouse shipments.

    To achieve this, we deployed a third-party Shopify connector and enhanced it with custom-developed routing logic. This customisation solved a critical operational bottleneck: it allowed Odoo to automatically split a single Shopify order and dispatch delivery requests to two different regional 3PL warehouses simultaneously based on local stock availability. Alongside this automated retail engine, wholesale workflows were streamlined; B2B orders are now entered manually directly into Odoo, which instantly triggers the appropriate international 3PL warehouse for delivery.

    Financial Automation

    The finance department frequently experienced administrative burnout from manually typing out invoices and hunting down matching bank transactions across multiple e-commerce payment gateways. The accounting team reclaimed substantial weekly hours and eliminated human error through fully automated financial workflows.

    We configured Odoo Accounting to dynamically generate invoices and handle payment reconciliations for e-commerce customers automatically as orders flow in from Shopify. This eliminated manual data entry, ensuring that financial data matches inventory movements without delay.

    The finance team previously felt anxious about data security risks and processing delays when managing vendor invoices across different departments. They completely eliminated manual invoicing bottlenecks while enforcing strict internal controls over sensitive financial data. This was achieved by deploying Odoo’s Bill OCR functionality with a customised permission layer. We modified the workflow so that any employee could upload a vendor invoice to automatically create a draft bill using OCR, without granting them access to the wider accounting module or to bills uploaded by other staff. To ensure absolute financial accuracy, these system-generated drafts remained safely isolated until the accounting team reviewed and formally approved them for posting.

    Upon crossing the go-live milestone, the client experienced an overwhelming sense of relief and professional confidence as they watched international orders sync and fulfil without a single manual hitch. Management gained complete, real-time visibility over their global inventory, cash flow, and regional sales performance from a single dashboard.

    This successful launch was secured by a meticulous data migration that protected historical records, structured training sessions that won staff buy-in, and dedicated post-go-live support to ensure a seamless handover to a highly scalable business model.
